Michael and Pauline Wheeler welcome guests to come and share the wonderful countryside at Plas Bwlch, which translates to The Mansion of the Valley. Plas Bwlch is a cosy Georgian Farmhouse surrounded by 15 acres of farmland, with breathtaking views of the Upper Wye Valley. We run a small Pedigree flock of Dutch Zwartbles sheep, which are quite rare in the U.K. along with various chickens, so guests can be assured of fresh farm eggs with their hearty breakfasts.
Our Bed and Breakfast accommodation is rated 4 Stars with the Welsh Tourist Board and consists of one double room and one twin room on the lower ground floor, both with en-suite bathrooms, televisions and tea making facilities along with guests’ own sitting / dining room. We offer ample off road parking on our front drive, as well as locked / secure parking for bikes, trailers and rally cars.
Llangurig is 1000ft above sea level and is surrounded by wonderful scenery, where the extremely rare Red Kites can regularly be seen soaring above our farm on the thermals or, for a closer view, why not visit one of the local feeding stations, for example Nant Y Arian, where visitors will also find Mountain Biking Routes along with some spectacular walks around the mountains and the lakes. The Wye Valley Walk and the National Cycle Route (Lon Las Cymru) pass through Llangurig. For those who wish to try their hands at Clay Pigeon Shooting, then why not visit the fantastic Centre at Trefeglwys, where the World Championships are regularly held. Llwn Clywedog and Nant Y Moch reservoirs are nearby and the Elan Valley Lakes are only a short drive away.
