Community Centre Hirers Agreement [PDF document] HistoryLlanidloes Community Centre was built in the early 1960s as an entertainment’s venue for the town. It has hosted many memorable events over the years, and many a famous name has graced its stage. It has nurtured generations of local talent, and provided meeting space for a community rich in artistic, cultural and social interaction. But all buildings go through stages and the early part of the new millennium witnessed a decline in the Centre’s fortunes, leading to its closure in 2006. Starting OverNow, a new Community Centre Charity has been set up and the Centre is under new management. Ambitious plans are now in being to improve the facilities and give the building a new lease of life; plans that will see the Centre once more become the focal point for community activity and pride, and which will make the most of its central location to ensue that it becomes the venue for entertainment and meetings in Mid Wales. For HireThe Community Centre currently comprises two main areas, all of which are available for hire: The Hall / Auditorium (and stage): a huge, multi-use space suitable for performance, dancing, indoor sports, auctions and fairs, conferences and lectures. The hall has a floor area of 322sqm (less the stage), can seat 400 people comfortably and features a sprung wooden floor. Hire charge: £15/hour The Bailey Room: an annexed meeting room offering 72sqm of meeting space. Fully self contained, the Bailey Room has tea making facilities and can also operate as a fully licensed bar. Hire charge: £10/hour The rates of hire for the Community Centre are highly competitive. Please view the: Hirer's Agreement form for further information on bookings. Latest NewsFollowing Progress: The complete refurbishment of the Community Centre will take a number of years. The Trustees of the new charity are keen to keep everyone informed of progress, and to pay tribute to all those who have assisted with the project. Community Centre progress reports and notices will be posted here regularly for the information of the local community, potential hirers and all interested parties to access.
