Llanidloes Carnival has long been a traditional fixture on the summer calendar of the town. Initially started to raise money for Llanidloes hospital in 1932, this is a wonderful community event that everyone can take part in. Our Queen and her attendants are elected through a public vote and are the centre piece of a fantastic parade through the town, proudly led by Llanidloes Silver Band. The procession is a chance for people to exercise their creative talents, and every year we have a brilliant and very varied display of costumes, floats and lorries. We are always pleased to welcome visiting Queens from other carnivals in the area. The parade culminates at Victoria Park football field, but this is only the start of the fun, as the afternoon continues with events, games and competitions on the field. A real family and community event, the carnival is a great celebration of life in Llanidloes.
